A renewed focus on growth initiatives including increasing emphasis on Class 2 and Class 3 activities that will stretch the boundaries of the Gum, Confections and Mint processes we play in today, result in a need to renew our focus on Process and Scale-up Development within the Global New Products organization. A fully operational Pilot Plant capable of predicting scale-up success to our Global Factories with GMP, Quality & Food Safety, and Personal/Equipment Safety at the forefront will be key enablers of success and efficiency. A strong day to day Operations Manager/leader for the Pilot Plant is needed to be successful and to ensure the Pilot Plant “keeps up” with the rest of the organization pace. The role is also responsible for team and people leadership, with up to 10 direct reports.

Duties include:
Manage the day to day operations of the Pilot Plant, implementing processes and tools as needed to do so. Equipment, ingredients, and other tools needed
Implement GMP, HACCP, Q&FS, Safety and other best practices in to the Pilot Plant organization (culture, behaviors, ways of working, and measures)
People & high performance team development
Create and maintain strong partnerships within the R&D community (GQ, NPPD, GST) and Supply Chain
Manage the elevation of the Pilot Plant organization to a level of excellence for the organization
Administration and budget management

B.S in Engineering or B.A. in Management

Minimum of 10 years experience in consumer process and equipment operations, minimum of 5 years managing associates

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Other:
In-depth understanding of process and equipment operations and technology, understanding of mechanical systems, innovation process development, sustainability knowledge
Strong communication, relationship management
Strong people management experience with hourly line and/or shift workers

Physical/Mental Demands:
Occasional travel required- 10%
Physical activity is required; including lifting, equipment operation, personal safety equipment and a lot of time on your feet
