Pipeline Operations Engineer

The purpose of this position is to actively provide daily technical support and leadership to drive improvement of MBO operations, maintenance, process safety, and reliability programs. Resolves problems through troubleshooting & historical knowledge, and implements solutions in a timely manner. Determines root causes and issues technical solutions as necessary to support operational goals for quality, reliability and production. Responsible for fully implementing corporate and Pipeline process safety programs, including MOC, PCA, PHA, Facility/Building siting, Risk Management, Loss Prevention, etc.

2. Knowledgeable in chemical and process engineering aspects

3. Ability to apply engineering concepts to solve operational problems

4. Knowledgeable of safety design systems

5. Knowledgeable in the HSE/PSM regulations and relevant company Operational Excellence standards

6. Experience developing process design packages, project scopes, and related economics

7. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and techniques

8. Self-directed, able to work effectively with minimal supervision

9. Knowledgeable in Six Sigma, FMEA and/or RCA methodologies


· Bachelor Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

· Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience in the petrochemical and/or pipeline storage industries

· Experience developing process design packages and project economics

· Ability to apply engineering concepts to solve operational issues

· Knowledgeable of safety design systems, HSE and OSHA's Process Safety Management regulations

· Demonstrated knowledge of statistical application such as Six Sigma as well as incident investigation methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and/or Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
