The Material Planner 6 will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
Provide functional material responsibility for assigned production area in Salem, VA
Be responsible for inventory management for assigned parts and processes required to ensure material input to support customer requirements while financial inventory objectives are accomplished
Coordinate planning and scheduling activities for assigned commodity utilizing advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization
Identify all critical hardware shortages, monitor the implementation of corrective actions plans, control inventory levels of hardware, and coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, and excess material
Apply appropriate optimization methodologies to balance service level, inventory, and resource utilization using advanced planning tools
Monitor performance to plan and take pro-active action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the plan
Monitor input / output of external suppliers (plating mfg., raw material, etc.) and ensure timely receipt of material
Assure timely release of material demands and monitor status of releases thru completion
Analyze data and collaborate in the determination and the subsequent application of appropriate order, inventory, and replenishment policies
Utilize modeling data and obtain collaborative feedback to perform optimization simulations and recovery scheduling
Interface with Demand Management, Shop Scheduling, Fulfillment Team, configuration control, all sources of supply, customer service reps, and other GE organizations as required
Bachelor’s Degree from and accredited college or university
Minimum of 1 year of experience in planning and/or scheduling in a production or service environment
