DESCRIPTION

The Planning & Analysis Analyst will be responsible for analyzing any and all facets of business at Soboba Casino. The Analyst will be responsible for producing reports which will enable management to make more informed business decisions and provide management with analysis summaries and recommendations based on findings.

DUTIES

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for preparation of various reports and analyses, including gaming, food & beverage revenue, and other operational areas schedule.
  • Assists in identifying financial and operational impact of labor within all departments and determining areas of potential labor inefficiencies.
  • Provide statistical and analytical support in the development, implementation and evaluation of all operations departments.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis such as Profitability, ROI, Break-even, Pro-forma Income Statements, various marketing promotions and events which requires accessing and compiling data from multiple sources.
  • Assists management in the analysis of periodic financial results and preparation of presentations for operational and budget reviews.
  • Proactively support and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs to assist co-workers as needed.
  • Display the ability to be a team player and interface with other departments to develop key relations to insure maximum efficiency in completing job tasks.
  • Accurately prioritize, organize and complete multiple tasks by the assigned deadline with changing priorities.
  • Be a self starter and require little supervision or direction with the ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ensures that behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times.
  • This position is not limited to job duties listed in the description. Duties or responsibilities can be changed, expanded, reduced or deleted by management to meet the needs of the Finance Department and Soboba Casino.
Other Functions:
  • Analyze complex financial performance models and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control or action.
  • Provide return on investment analysis/reports for slot relocation, new game installs/removals and conversions.
  • Analyze and report slot variances with recommended improvements to the Director of Finance and Management.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable gaming laws (federal, state, and local), company policies and company internal controls (MICS).
  • All other relevant duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities:
  • A bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in finance, business, economics, or accounting.
  • 1-2 years of analytical experience in the gaming industry.
  • Casino experience is required.
  • Must possess above average problem solving skills such as the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, construct mathematical models, interpret data in various formats, and make inferences about the results.
  • Experience with computer report writing and/or database inquiry software is highly desirable such as ACCESS, SQL or equivalent.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including, higher level functions in EXCEL such as Pivot Tables, sumifs, Nested forumlas, V/Hlookups, Macros, Graphing, etc., Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Have exceptional language skills including, but not limited to: excellent communication skills both written and oral. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have well-rounded financial analysis and report writing skills.
  • Ability to evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.
Certificates, licenses, and registration:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to submit to and pass all drug and alcohol testing.
