Under close supervision, performs work at a working level in the planning and traffic analysis section. Duties may include: analyzing existing traffic, and forecasting future traffic projections that are used to develop concepts and design plans for highway projects throughout the State of Georgia. Performs work at a working level in the planning and analysis of transportation systems. Learns to conduct multimodal transportation planning studies for rural and/or small urban areas or learns to assist local governments in developing, maintaining and implementing transportation plans for larger urban areas.
Minimum Training & Experience: Completion of 90 quarter hours (60 sem hrs) at an accredited college or university Note: Experience in a related area may substitute for degree on a year by year basis.

*One or more years experience in managing and/or coordinating highway transportation or related field.
*Possesses strong knowledge of statistical techniques and/or basic geometry.
*Possesses experience in analyzing data for the purposes of determining forecast data.
*Demonstrated experience working with federal aid for transportation projects.
*Possesses demonstrated competency in performing and managing highway transportation studies for a city, county, or other geographical area.
*Possesses experience in the planning and analysis of transportation systems.
*Demonstrated experience utilizing computer software.
*Demonstrated ability to facilitate adaptation to change.
*Sees detail in words, numbers and maps quickly and accurately.
