This is a full-time position located in the administrative offices of Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville. Primary responsibilities are to assist with activities of the Planning and Development Office and to complete related secretarial/clerical duties. Position requires someone with exceptional ability to meet and interact positively with College staff and community members. Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks in an environment of frequent interruptions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (% OF TIME)
Coordinate and assist with activities of the Planning and Development Office with other appropriate entities of the college and community on various planning and development activities.
Perform related secretarial and clerical tasks of the office.
Coordinate scheduling activities for Planning and Development staff; maintain Planning and Development Group Calendar schedules.
Prepare correspondence and maintain office files.
Attend grant development and committee meetings, develop agendas, take minutes and publish/disseminate minutes/reports in a timely manner.
Serve as the recorder for the Assessment Review Committee, Academic Council, Academic Policies & Standards Committee and Technology/Equipment Funding Committee.
Maintain and monitor office and grant budgets and prepare purchase orders.
Promote the grants function at the College by assisting staff as needed in the development of proposals and gathering of data.
Assist other Planning and Development staff in preparing, analyzing, and disseminating various reports related to grants, planning, outcomes assessment and institutional effectiveness activities.
Manage databases for selective grants and institutional effectiveness requirements to facilitate required reports and surveys.
Assist other Planning and Development staff in grants proposal development, with special attention for proposal page layout, word processing and proof-reading.
Maintain the Planning and Development website with Marketing assistance.
Support Planning and Development staff with the submission process (surface mail and/or electronic for all grant, survey and assessment activities).
Assist other Planning and Development staff with the design, publication and dissemination of Info in a Minute.
Direct activities of work-study personnel associated with the Planning and Development Office.
Prepare final draft of the annual strategic plan update; disseminate to college employees, community and other agencies as assigned.
Assist with annual CAAP assessment process, including ordering and managing test materials security, cohort identification and notification, report development and distribution.
Serve on assigned and voluntary committees of the college.
Assist with the planning committee, i.e. parades and county fairs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Computer literacy: understanding of and ability to utilize a personal computer and software programs, especially Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Represent the college in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors, and the general public with the ability and willingness to meet and interact positively with clientele of the office.
Must be enthusiastic and energetic in performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply correct English usage, grammar, punctuation and arithmetic.
Exercise self-initiative in conducting the business of the Planning and Development Office during absences of the Executive Dean.
Ability to read and understand written and oral instruction or communication.
Ability to efficiently manage and perform multiple tasks in an environment with frequent interruptions.
Ability to assume responsibility; deal effectively with problems and exercise good judgment when making decisions.
Ability to take minutes at meetings and keep accurate records.
Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, and grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, viewing various types of close visual work, and repetitive motion constantly (67-100%). May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check.

High school diploma or equivalency required. A combination of secretarial/clerical experience or post-secondary training in an appropriate area equivalent to three years or an Associate Degree preferred. Ability to utilize a personal computer for word processing and establishment of databases and spreadsheets with extensive knowledge of various software programs required.
SALARY: $12.14 /hour
