Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Planning and Scheduling Analyst located in Houston, Texas through February 15, 2013.

The Planning and Scheduling Analyst will be assigned to a PRC-led Major Capital Project of low to high complexity. The successful candidate is expected to be a college graduate (engineering or industry related degree) and have a minimum of 3 years of Project Planning / Project Execution experience. At least ten years of experience in planning/scheduling for upstream/downstream oil & gas projects will be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop the Schedule Plan and Basis of Schedule.
  • Develop the schedule in standard software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
  • Develop planning tasks, durations, and logic.
  • Proactively engage with disciplines to establish schedules, as well as identify and resolve issues.
  • Independently update and maintain an integrated, detailed schedule.
  • Assist in review and validation of integrated, detailed schedules.
  • Generate schedule reports.
  • The Anlayst does not have a supervisory role but may mentor others.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Project Planning/Project Execution experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in planning/scheduling for upstream/downstream oil and gas projects will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Candidate expected to have limited proficiency in scheduling software applications (MS Project or Oracle Primavera).
  • Experience in cost engineering or project management, particularly planning and scheduling, for major capital projects, including owner's perspective.
  • Knowledge to effectiively analyze and critique major capital project plans and scheduless to provide assurance of their accuracy.
  • Knowlege to facilitate planning sessions for any phase of project life cycle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of standardized Planning and Scheduling work processes and tools in a major capital project environment.
  • Knowledge of Planning and Scheduling tools, techniques, and software.
  • Participation in the execution phase (engineering, design, procurement, fabrication/construction, installation, commissioning) of major capital projects, preferrably in cost engineering and/or project management roles.
  • Execution planning preformed in FEED and Pre-FEED.(early conceptual planning)
  • Basic knowledge of the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry, with experience in execution of downstream and/or upstream facilities and well programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced in serving a broad group of stakeholders, demonstrated ability to work from a position of influence (vs. authority) based on credibility as a Project Planning Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Must be able to travel to domestic and international project team locations.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) International cerfitication as a Planning and Scheduling Consultant and/or as a Certified Cost Engineer is preferred but not necessary.
  • Upstream oil and gas project experience preferred.

    Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

    Expatriate assignments will be considered.
