Job is located in Wellford, SC.

Purpose: To direct and manage the engineering and maintenance functions of the Wellford facility necessary to operate, maintain, and develop the facility in order to produce state of the art TPO roofing products. To provide support to other plant functions as required. Plant Engineer will monitor utilities usage, building/grounds and provide engineering information as needed to evaluate plant operations as well as proposed additions to the facility.

Description:

SAFETY 10%

Provide leadership and direction to the plant safety effort. This includes knowledge of all programs and codes as well as engineering safety into all new capital and maintenance projects.

ENVIRONMENTAL 10%

Execution of all requirements of the plants environmental matters. This includes the ISO 14001 system, and all permitting and reporting requirements. Must be knowledgeable of environmental laws and regulations that pertain to the plants operation.

PLANT ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE 40%

Designs, supervises, and implements modifications to plant equipment and facilities. Directs and assists in resolution of equipment repairs.

Ability to work with other departments to identify plant processing problems, repetitive problems and bottlenecks.

Consults outside engineering services as needed.

CAPITAL PROJECTS ADMINISTRATION 30%

Identify capital needs with respect to production, environmental, safety, building and grounds, etc and carry these projects from inception to completion. This includes working with outside contractors, specifying equipment, supervising onsite work, scheduling with the plant and handling all problems that arise during the project.

ADMINISTRATION/PERSONNEL 10%

Attending regular staff and production meetings, meeting with Staff / Team Leaders on human relations issues, and spending time on the floor with teammates. Assures plant equipment and process compliance to all local, state and federal programs as well as Bridgestone/Firestone’s Corporate policies for safety, IH and environmental considerations.

Requirements

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of applied plant engineering and maintenance experience.
