Job Description:
The Plant Engineering & Reliability Team Leader will
lead the design team and the refinery’s central
reliability team. The design team is responsible for
producing engineering packages as required for the
fabrication and installation of various small expense
projects in support of Operations and Maintenance. The
central reliability team manages the refinery’s
mechanical integrity processes for fixed, rotating, and
electrical equipment and instrumentation. The successful
candidate will have strong engineering skills, project &
design experience and a working knowledge of equipment
reliability best practices, preferably from a large
refining or petrochemical facility. Provide and
demonstrate personal safety leadership, championing safe
work performance. Drive company core values, including
ethics, safety environmental leadership and valuing all
people. Interface with the Maintenance and Operations
teams to ensure all engineering requests and work scope
items are properly developed and prioritized. Provide
overall guidance and drive accountability for all
required MOC elements related to design team activities
and projects: Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard
Reviews (PHRs) and Pre Start-up Safety Reviews (PSSRs).
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards
and plant policies; lead the effort to keep Engineering,
Reliability and Mechanical Integrity standards
evergreen. Manage the engineering document vault and the
overall documentation effort for all refinery equipment.
Champion specific reliability improvement efforts to
ensure they are implemented and sustained. Interface
with the Maintenance and Operations teams to effectively
identify the equipment “Bad Actors” and work together to
improve reliability and minimize cost and LPO. Stay
abreast of advancing reliability technologies; evaluate
& select new technologies for implementation where they
are supported by a strong business case. Share and
implement Best Practices with other P66 sites. Keep
direct reports well informed on plant and business
information. Oversee career development for all team
members. Ensure that all team members receive
appropriate technical training to be successful in their
positions. Qualifications Basic/Required: Legally
authorized to work in the United States 7+ years
experience in design and engineering activities and/or
reliability engineering in a plant role 1+ years of
previous supervisory experience Broad knowledge of
refinery processes and equipment
