GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Manager for our custom fabrication manufacturing operation located in Canonsburg, PA. Responsible for leading a team that manufactures services components and dry fuel storage systems for use in the nuclear industry. Will be accountable for safety, product quality, efficient product manufacturing, lean initiatives and assisting Shop Operations Manager.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
  • Select, hire, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel
  • Ensure team members are provided adequate training, resources and support to assure safe and compliant manufacturing practices are achieved
  • Be responsible for meeting EHS expectations, product quality requirements and contractual delivery dates
  • Assure operation planning - provides direction to support needs of production area, including work assignments, scheduling of overtime, and training
  • Communicate business goals, programs, and processes to all shifts
  • Promote team engagement, ownership, and continuous training
  • Develop and support the growth of all team employees
  • Support manufacturing leaders in capacity planning, both equipment and manpower
  • Drive productivity and cost challenges through Lean and continuous improvement projects

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to work off-shifts as required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Manufacturing supervision experience
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and work instructions
