Salary is negotiable based on qualifications. Oversees and participates in the maintenance of all water/wastewater facilities and equipment in the Department of Watershed Management.

Examples Of Essential Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to: overseeing semi-skilled and skilled employees; inspecting facilities; lubricating equipment; performing preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance; cleaning work area; completing paperwork and utilizing a CMMS (Maximo). This employee must have a good knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, techniques, tools, and equipment of plumbing, electrical, machinery welding, masonry, mechanics, and other trades as they relate to plant mechanical maintenance work; some knowledge of the principals and practices of supervision; ability to do difficult plant mechanical maintenance work; interpret work from sketches, blue prints, and written directions; instruct and supervise the work of subordinate plant maintenance personnel; ability to write reports, basic computer skills and ability to use a CMMS. This employee directs and participates in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment and machinery; installs, maintains, and repairs chemical feed systems, gear box equipment, control units, pumping systems, air dehumidification systems, centrifuge, conveyor equipment, water/chemical storage tanks, wells, filter rate controllers, heat gauges, wash water and auxiliary pumps, gas lines, electric supply panels, boilers, service air , pneumatic and hydraulic systems and other machinery and equipment as required; does foundation work, sets equipment, does plumbing of air, oil, water, and drain lines; fabricates needed parts inclusive of welding and cutting; and oversees work assignments for plant maintenance personnel. This work also requires lifting of heavy equipment, walking and climbing in potentially dangerous areas; may be exposed to inclement weather conditions.

Typical Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; four years of plant maintenance experience which includes two (2) years as a plant maintenance mechanic; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license.
