Required Education and Experience:|
Direction of plant operations and community relations requires significant manufacturing knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills.
Seven to ten years of manufacturing experience with extensive supervisory responsibility.
Experience with fiscal activities such as staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals.
Proven record of continual improvement in areas of expertise.
Proven track record of driving results and continuous improvement in an organization
Experience in developing high-performance teams
Practical knowledge of leading edge lean/six sigma strategies
Minimum 4 year undergraduate degree preferred
Previous experience in Rubber (tire, belts etc.) manufacturing strongly desired
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to deal with and manage multiple projects
Proven ability to lead and develop people
Job Purpose Statement
The Manufacturing Plant Manager is responsible for plant operation and maintenance. He or she will establish plant policies and procedures. This manager is responsible for plant production goals. The Plant Manager establishes and maintains community relations. The Plant Manager is responsible for fostering a well-trained and motivated staff.
The Plant Manager is responsible for delivering all products/services on-time and at the targeted cost. The Manager leads the development and execution of departmental strategies and plans that achieve our revenue, operating profit, quality and lean manufacturing objectives.
The Plant Manager must demonstrate knowledge and expertise in their departmental discipline including lean and six-sigma manufacturing principles, departmental strategy development and execution, and state-of-the-art departmental technology. The Manager is responsible for insuring that the company achieves its annual and long range targets for cost, quality and delivery. The Manager must have the ability to develop this expertise throughout their departments. The position requires excellent focus, high energy and enthusiasm, forward thinking, strong analytical capability, excellent problem solving, the ability to manage change, solid execution and a commitment to help the company meet financial objectives and exceed customer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe plant.
Establish and direct plant policies and procedures.
Responsible for plant production goals.
Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules.
Select and train plant supervisory and administrative staff.
Conduct employee performance reviews.
Schedule and conduct plant meetings.
Responsible for the product quality control for the plant.
