Scope of Position

The Plant Manager will

report directly to the General Manager and is responsible for the Safe,

Efficient, Lawful, and Cost Effective Management and Operations of the

facility. He/she will provide leadership

in Operations, Maintenance, Business, Engineering, and Environmental functions

of the facility. He/she will ensure

conformance with all Facility Contracts, Environmental Permits, Safety,

Federal, State and Local Laws and serve as the primary interface between these

agencies. He/she person will also

provide Leadership in Budgeting and Short, Mid, and Long term goals.

Working Conditions

While performing the

duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral

communication skills, read and interpret data, information and documents;

analyze and solve complex problems, observe and interpret situations, use math

and mathematical reasoning; deal with changing, intensive deadlines, and

interact with internal and external clients. Must be able to concentrate while under

time constraints. Occasional overnight travel (up to 20%) by land and/or air.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to
all Team Members.

  • Ensure Safe,
Efficient, Cost Effective, and environmentally appropriate operation of the

facility according to all Facility Contracts, Environmental and other Permits,

Power Purchase Agreements, and Plant and Corporate Policies.

  • Ensure the facility
complies with all Federal, State, and Local laws.

  • Prepare, Approve, and
Administer all Plant Budgets and Budget process.

  • Analyze and critique
plant performance and ensures each project is performed in the most Safe, Efficient,

Timely, and Cost Effective method and analyze each project for improvement.

  • This position is the
central point of contact for regulatory agencies and Corporate Affairs.

  • Coordinate regular
and periodic plant audits of all disciplines to ensure that proper regulatory

plans are in place and updated as needed.

  • Track Federal, State,
and Local regulatory developments and alert Corporate Environmental Affairs as

needed for information and to give/receive guidance as necessary.

  • Administer Facility
Contracts on behalf of Owners and Corporate Officials.

  • Develop, Implement
and Review various operational reporting systems.

  • Coordinate the Short,
Mid, and Long term budget processes for the Facility.

  • Lead in developing,
enforcing, coordinating, improving, and defining plant policies, programs,

guidelines, orders, and procedures.

  • Respond to Plant
Emergencies in accordance with the Emergency Response Plan.

  • Lead in identifying
and implementing plant and/or profit improvement projects.

  • Support business
development activities.

  • Review and
implementation of contracts such as Vendor, Electrical and Gas Interconnect

Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, etc.

  • Interface with
Corporate to improve communications and optimize operational and financial

performance of the assets.

  • Maintain a safe work
environment through identification and correction of hazards, and maintaining a

high standard of cleanliness of the facility.

  • Hold morning, monthly
and quarterly meetings with staff.

  • Attend training,
implement and pursue personal development goals.

  • Other duties as
assigned.

Qualifications

·

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or

extensive Power Plant experience in Operations / Maintenance with project

construction background.

·

A minimum of 10 – 15 years’ experience in steam and electric power

plant operations of which, at least 8 years have been in the commercial

generating facilities.

·

A minimum of 8 years Management experience in solid fuel power

plant.

·

Extensive experience in the use of personal computers and numerous

software applications such as Excel, Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, etc.

·

Ability to provide leadership as a senior team member.

·

Ability to live the company Mindset and develop relationships with

corporate entities.

·

Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to

effectively organize and facilitate process teams to implement the company’s

improvement initiatives.

Ability to understand complex contractual issues as they relate to

plant operations.

·

Ability to handle quick changing situations under stress and to

work extended hours on short notice if and when required.

·

Travel to other corporate locations will be required.
