Assist Mechanics when needed.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on natural gas fired internal combustion engines, reciprocating and rotary gas compressors.
Assist with engine/compressor overhauls.
Troubleshoot engine/compressor package problems and make decisions to rectify the problems.
Check engine/compressor packages for lube oil and coolant leakage problems and resolve the problems.
Assist in engine/compressor operations when needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training Required
Minimum 3 years experience in natural gas industry performing preventive and predictive maintenance on natural gas fired internal combustion engines, reciprocating and rotary gas compressors or (minimum 5 years mechanical experience in automotive, or similar industries).
Ability to work safely and adhere to all federal, state and company policies and procedures governing safe work practices.
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Ability to meet requirements of State and Federal regulations governing vehicle operations.
Basic Computer and Microsoft Office skills.
Experience performing maintenance and repair on White Superior, Waukesha, Caterpillar, etc. natural gas fired engines and Ariel, Superior, Ingersoll Rand, Frick, etc. natural gas compressors.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications;
Knowledge/experience in working on electrical/electronic equipment
Special Characteristics/Job Requirements:
Natural Gas Plant work is subject to hazardous conditions including escaping gas, adverse weather conditions, extreme temperatures, heights, high-pressure gas lines, heavy lifting, and cramped conditions. The job will require some travel for temporary assignments, meetings, and training. The job also may require shift work, occasional unscheduled call-outs and extended workdays and/or workweeks.
Natural gas gathering and processing is an “around the clock” operation and incumbents are required to be reasonably available to respond to emergency and other operational needs whenever they occur. The job will require some travel for temporary assignments, meetings, and training. Employees are required to live within a reasonable distance of their reporting location.
Position is subject to applicable U.S. Department of Transportation Drug & Alcohol regulations.
Position is entry level and incumbent will be required to learn duties associated with one or more specific areas of the operation depending on the operational need and the employee’s demonstrated abilities.
