With guidance from Operations Supervisor performs tasks required for operation of cryogenic plant, amine treater plant, glycol/dehydration system, Sulfur Recovery Unit, PD pumps and centrifugal pumps, including but not limited to: completing log readings for the amine treater plant, sulfur recovery plant, steam boiler, and dehydration System, and maintaining proper oil levels in rotating equipment, process pumps and blowers.
Recognizes operating deviations and takes appropriate corrective action.
Maintains cleanliness and general appearance of facilities and surrounding work area as needed. Performs lab testing of amine, water and black gasoline as needed.
Provides relief for the Process Operator “A” position when required.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training Required
Basic computer use skills;
Effective written & verbal communication;
Ability to read, comprehend and apply information contained in operating manuals;
Physical capabilities of: standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, lifting of loads weighing up to 80lbs;
5 years of general experience in the oil/gas industry;
2 years of experience with sulfur recovery and amine units
Special Characteristics/Job Requirements:
Shift work (15 days on out of 28 day rotation, 9-12 hour shifts, 2-10 hour shifts and 4-8 hour shifts); overtime only required to cover illness, vacation or other absence.
Work holidays and weekends that occur during the shift.
Natural Gas Plant work is subject to hazardous conditions including escaping gas, adverse weather conditions, extreme temperatures, heights, high-pressure gas lines, heavy lifting, and cramped conditions. The job also may require shift work, occasional unscheduled call-outs and extended workdays and/or workweeks. Employees are required to live within a reasonable distance of their reporting location. Position is subject to applicable U.S. Department of Transportation Drug & Alcohol regulations.
Natural gas gathering and processing is an “around the clock” operation and incumbents are required to be reasonably available to respond to emergency and other operational needs whenever they occur. The job will require some travel for temporary assignments, meetings, and training.
Incumbent will be required to learn duties associated with one or more specific areas of the operation depending on the operational need and the employee’s demonstrated abilities.
NOTE: This position is for our NEW Plant in OLA, TX opening 2013.
Once hired - this position will work at one or more of our current Plants for training purposes until the Red Bluff plant is on-line and operational. When the NEW Plant opens this position will then report to the Red Bluff Plant ONLY!
