Firestone Building Products, LLC (FSBP), the leading manufacturer of quality roofing systems, has an immediate need for an experienced Plant Superintendent for our DeForest, WI manufacturing facility.
This position will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for directing and coordinating all activities associated with the production of company products by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities: The Plant Superintendent is responsible for the safety and overall direction, coordination, analysis and evaluation of the manufacturing unit. The successful candidate will be the primary leader on the plant floor for demonstrating and modeling behavior consistent with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. They will manage and develop two Production Supervisors and their teammates in the production department. Additional responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training teammates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing internal and external customer complaints, resolving issues and opportunities through root cause analysis. The Plant Superintendent must work closely with other managers in the plant to build and manage a successful operation.
The Superintendent is a key player in the ongoing implementation of the site's Continuous Improvement initiatives and improving the operation utilizing various lean six-sigma tools. They will plan and direct continuous improvement activities and establish production team priorities consistent with safe practices, environmental policy compliance, and efficient operations leading to effective cost control. They will review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications and operating targets.


This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of Manufacturing Experience (preferred manufacturing experience in the Urethane Chemical Industry).
