The Plasma Center Medical Supervisor I will monitor the Plasmapheresis process to ensure staff follow Standard Operating Procedures, and remain current regarding SOP changes. Monitor and direct the donors to facilitate quality center operations. The Medical Supervisor will be knowledgeable and certified in all areas of Biomedical Technician responsibilities. This position will serve as a back up to the Physician Substitute function in the Center. Review area records daily to assure accuracy and compliance (log books, donor charts, lab or donor fee sheets). Complete all required reports and records accurately and in a timely fashion. Observe employee's performance and provide assistance and additional training whenever needed. Assist in scheduling staff to provide adequate and safe coverage for area, monitor time card procedures and utilization of overtime. Understand, implement and monitor System for Management (TEAM) responsibilities, i.e. Performance Board, Arrival Patterns, Scheduling staff using arrival patterns, Phlebotomy performance, etc.The Plasma Center Medical Supervisor I maintains confidentiality with respect to personnel, donor and center records reviewed during the course of all duties. Serve as staff in the Physician Substitute function as necessary. Provide good customer service by maintaining an efficient, clean and pleasant working environment and having positive interaction with the customers. Answer all customer questions; provide information regarding the plasmapheresis program. Initial certification and annual recertification through the Biotest Pharmaceutical Corporation technical training program in the production areas(s).
LPN required. Proficiency in the use of English and mathematics. Course work in the medical field desirable. Two to Five years' experience in a healthcare setting. Experience as a Plasma or BloodBank Technician or related field preferred. Ability to communicate instructions and procedures clearly and by demonstration. Must have a high level of attention to detail. Manual and hand-eye dexterity; able to work in a fast paced environment involving multiple details; flexibility in accepting changes in work environment. Must write neatly and legibly. Ability to use all instruments in area of specialization accurately and efficiently. May also utilize office equipment and computer terminal, requiring light typing skills. Knowledge of basic computer applications; such as Excel, Word is required or ability to obtain computer experience within six months May require CPR certification, some knowledge of health issues. Assuring quality of procedures and proper documentation; instrument event logs, calibration logs, cleaning and maintenance logs. May be responsible for cash fund used for donor fees.
