Primary Function


Lay’s out, installs, tests, troubleshoots repairs and maintains all existing, modified, experimental and new plumbing, heating/cooling, ventilation and vacuum systems plant wide. Additionally supports entire plant facility mechanical equipment and infrastructure as required. Must be able to work with in a team environment structure.

Individual must have at a minimum a valid P2 Plumbers License.

Additional Licenses in heating /cooling /sprinkler trades are a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities


Interprets and analyzes work requirements of projects determining materials to use, methods and sequences of operational functions to install new industrial service(s).

Works from drawings, layout plans and general instructions to install,repair and maintain such systems as water,sanitary,sprinkler,heating, air conditioning, drainage steam, air and hydraulic.

Assists in-plant and outside engineering personal to evaluate, install, troubleshoot and repair/maintain mechanical components and systems.

Recommends changes in design, materials, or components to facilitate work in progress or reduce excessive breakdowns of particular components. Detects errors in drawings or layouts.

Tests, maintains and repairs all types of air and electrical control devices, solenoid valves, pressure reducing valves, thermostats and similar equipment.

Installs new piping or alters existing systems. Cuts and threads piping using necessary portable cutting and threading equipment. Reams, polishes and solders joints. Uses hand and power tools to build, disassemble and overhaul mechanical equipment/systems throughout the plant.

Assists in scheduling and planning work on preventive maintenance programs. Performs similar duties and as required, assists other trades personnel. Must be capable of obtaining company operator certifications required for vehicles such as man lifts, fork trucks and pick up trucks.

Performs and reports both daily and scheduled inspections of plant support equipment such as compressors, boilers, fire protection, air handlers, process and comfort cooling systems. Refers unusual problems to Group Leader.

Keeps work areas neat and orderly and complies with all safety procedures and safety protection programs. Maintains compliance with required GMP, ISO 9000 and associated documentation per C2C process.


Individual must have at a minimum a valid P2 Plumbers License.
