The Point of Service Collections and PA Analyst performs a variety of clerical and patient service duties necessary to maintain efficient flow of operations in the clinic/hospital/office setting. This position:
  • Retrieves reservation/notification of scheduled admission and/or procedure from clinic and surgery schedules
  • Processes co-payments for surgical patients as defined by hospital policies
  • Manages pending surgical procedures payments process for RHC Clinics
  • Creates daily reports for all RHC Clinics on co-pay activities
  • Communicates with Financial Counselors on patient application status for charity care
  • Works to resolve insurance prior authorization requirements with patients and clinics
  • Responsible for timely and accurate insurance verification for patient accounts
  • Provides clinics “financial clearance” to proceed with scheduling elective surgical procedures
  • Performs insurance verification within 24 hours of receipt of reservation/notification for both inpatient and outpatient services
  • Obtains insurance benefits and pre-certification information from insurance company
  • Contacts physician to resolve issues regarding prior authorization and co-pays
  • Performs electronic eligibility confirmation when applicable, and documents results
  • Calculates patient cost share and is prepared to collect via phone or make payment arrangement
  • Receives and records payments from patient for services rendered
  • Performs insurance verification and pre-certification follow up for prior day’s hospital admissions
  • Communicates with hospital based Case Manager as necessary to ensure prompt resolution of preexisting, non-covered, and re-certification issues
  • High school diploma or GED required with post secondary education courses or certification in business, computers, and office management. Associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience in business, office management or health information management
  • Maintains 95% accuracy on Insurance verification data audits
