Seasonal position (approximately March-September) - no benefits (up to 29 hours/week)
Under direction of the Pool Manager, the position will be responsible for supervising traffic and usage of locker rooms, answering inquiries, explaining and enforcing policies and procedures for dressing area. Work hours may include nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
- Perform patron check-in and secures patron belongings.
- Maintain order; supervise changing rooms, report hazards and facility needs as directed.
- Perform routine maintenance of pool area and locker rooms.
- Assist with pool chemical monitoring.
- Work with others to prevent accidents and enforce rules in dressing areas, showers, and pool deck.
- Work courteously with parents, students, general public, and staff.
- Attend regular staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Promote good customer service, orderliness, and professionalism.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Availability to work varied shifts including nights, early mornings, weekends, and / or holidays.
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Ability to speak Spanish is desired.
Education: Applicants must submit a copy of their high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with application materials. Course work in college desired.
Experience: Must have a minimum of one (1) year volunteer or paid experience working with the public. Leadership experience, ability to swim and maintenance experience are desired.
Licenses and Certifications:
Applicants must possess at time of employment current American Red Cross (ARC) Infant/Child/Adult CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator and Community First Aid and Safety certification. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid California Class C Driver’s License throughout the course of employment.
