Portfolio Administrator
Davidson Companies - Great Falls, MT
This position will maintain client portfolios and cost basis on D. A. Davidson’s cost basis reporting system, Portfolio Accounting & Performance Reporting (PAPR), by working with the Branches and other departments of D.A. Davidson Operations. The duties will include researching and updating cost basis transferring both internally and externally. This position will assist in the maintenance and monitoring of Performance Reporting as well as working on the monthly client statement production and processing.

Qualifications: (Including specific Education and License requirements)
  • Excellent office skills and experience working with office machines (fax, copier, adding machine, etc.)

  • Experience using a computer (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access a must)

  • Important to have good written correspondence and verbal skills.
  • Accounting background

  • Tax experience or knowledge of how tax lots are affected by reorganizations a plus

  • Strong in math

  • Detail oriented

  • Duties:
  • This position will work with Branches on maintaining tax lot information on PAPR in accordance with IRS cost basis regulations.

  • Assist with the processing and production of the monthly client statements including building and maintaining security data, doing price research and following the pricing policy. Will also answer questions on client statements and performance reporting including maintenance of data to correct out of balances in PAPR and ASPIRE Performance Reporting.

  • Monitor the transferring of cost basis and update, if application, cost basis in client accounts by working on internal and external client transfers including, but not limited to, ACAT and Non-ACAT transfers.

  • Will review and interpret tax consequences of reorganizations and other corporate actions in conjunction with the Managed Assets department.

  • Other duties as assigned.
