Responsibilities

Role Purpose This position will report to the VP, Global Real Estate – The Americas and will be responsible for all aspects of real estate portfolio analysis and activity supporting the wider team throughout The Americas.

Responsibilities

  • Support Global Real Estate team in developing, planning and executing real estate policy and strategies
  • Maximize real estate asset utilization by coordinating the sharing of space among the various NBCU entities
  • Proactively engage in real estate activities and identify strategic opportunities for NBCU business units
  • Proactively identify and implement efficient space utilization practices/standards
  • Represent NBCU GRE to the NBCU business units (primarily throughout The Americas and some support on the International level) in meeting their individual real estate needs while efficiently managing across the entire portfolio
  • Support VPs in acquisition and disposition of facilities, coordinating these activities with the appropriate management and staff functions at the various locations; this includes supporting all phases and activities involved in the acquisition, disposition and early termination/buy-out of any leased or owned property
  • Work with in-house and outside legal counsel, as needed, in preparing all documentation relating to any transaction and thoroughly analyze and abstract lease documentation to assist in this effort
  • Coordinate lease activity from project initiation through the final execution of the lease documents
  • Coordinate across the GRE team to manage and maintain the Real Estate and Lease databases, assuring proper documentation and documentation trails for all transactions
  • Identify and assess potential real estate strategies and opportunities that add value to the NBCU portfolio and operating divisions. Compare real estate alternatives from a qualitative, financial, timing and risk perspective
  • Track current lease contracts and manage process for critical date actions
  • Create internal reports for Management to track real estate strategies, decisions, risks, costs and project progress to align with business plans
  • Track all qualitative and quantitative savings created throughout all GRE activities for the group and Act as a liaison and point of contact between GRE and Finance departments
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in Corporate Real Estate activities including due diligence, market and property evaluations, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, transactional negotiations and strategic planning assignments
  • Minimum 3 years abstracting and interpreting lease language, and negotiating agreements

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong financial/analytical background with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prepare and present high level presentations and analyses/transaction summaries to senior executives
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple real estate-related projects with delivery of timely and quality results
  • Strong ability to understand, interpret and abstract lease language
  • Keen understanding of CAM, Real Estate tax escalations
  • Proven track record of successful real estate transactions
  • Ability to multi-task in a collaborative, fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of an organization and management and ability to build broad external networks
  • Self-starter; demonstrated initiative
  • Graduate degree in Real Estate or related field preferred
