The Portfolio Manager Associate will be responsible for assisting the assigned portfolio managers in all aspects of client relationships. He/she provides administrative support in an efficient and well-organized manner in the areas of portfolio management, trust administration, tax reporting, account maintenance, marketing, client reporting and clerical duties.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Interact with clients, custodians, tax preparers, financial and legal associates regarding client business as directed by two Portfolio Managers (PMs). Fully engage in all client relationships allowing the PMs to focus more time and effort on the investment strategy teams, research, face to face client meetings and new business presentations.
• Open new accounts, process check requests, wires, deposits, transfers, income distributions and pay or arrange for payment of tax, insurance or medical bills as necessary for clients.
• Maintain and update client list: set up and maintain efficient client files for legal, correspondence, trading, and cash activities in each account; work with Portfolio Service Group (PSG) in assuring that files are maintained appropriately; maintain files for prospective, existing and closed accounts; maintain record-keeping in accordance with regulatory, bank and department needs.
• Maintain positive cash positions in all accounts assisting the PM with cash transfers and notifying PM of any overdrawn situations; gain/maintain proficiency in all current department software.
• Provide close organizational support for the PM’s including: maintaining calendars, making travel arrangements and handling the daily mail.
• Perform special projects, as needed, throughout the department.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must have 2-5 years of investment management experience and investment specific understanding (ie. investment styles, trust administration and reporting expertise). The incumbent must also have 2-5 years in a client interfacing position, possessing extensive relationship management skills and experience.
