A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Tinatin Chabrashvili, MD, Ph.D., interested in Neurovascular and Blood-Brain Barrier Dysfunctions after brain injuries and during aging. Successful candidate will investigate the effects of Hypertension and Angiotensin II in the development of cerebrovascular disease, including stroke, cerebrovascular inflammation, the properties and function of the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) and adult neurogenesis.
The candidate would also be actively involved in studies related to how the brain endothelium affects neural stem cells renewal and differentiation. The laboratory uses both in-vivo and in-vitro models for analysis of BBB and neurogenesis.
The ideal candidate would be a recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with a background in rat or mice model surgeries and/or some experience with Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot.
A strong background in cell biology, vascular biology and/or molecular biology is a plus.
The candidate will also be expected to work effectively with graduate and undergraduate students.
