Job Description: The successful applicant will perform exploratory work in the field of insulin signaling using phosphoproteomics to compare and contrast signaling across an array of insulin receptor agonists. The position provides an opportunity to generate data for high-quality, peer-reviewed publications while simultaneously giving the scientist exposure to drug discovery research. The postdoctoral scientist will work closely with a mentor and other team members to drive a project. This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of 2 years, with the option to extend an additional 2 years. Key Objectives/Deliverables: Experimental design and execution. Data collection and analysis of results. Verbal and written presentation of scientific results, and communication with other scientists.
Basic Qualifications Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in chemistry, biological chemistry, biochemistry, protein chemistry, or a related discipline is required. Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and phosphoproteomics technology. Previous experience in diabetes, endocrinology, intracellular signaling or receptor pharmacology, is highly desired. Excellence in critical thinking, data analysis. Additional Skills/Preferences Hands-on experience in conducting nano-flow LC-MS and LC-MS/MS experiments. Hands-on experience in proteomic and phosphoproteomic sample preparation and post-acquisition data analysis in vitro skills (cell culture and receptor isolation). Demonstrated interdisciplinary approaches to problem solving, e.g., phosphoproteomics and gene expression analysis. Interest in working with biologics. Apply Online at:
