Emergent Atomic and Magnetic NanoStructures group at the Ames Laboratory is seeking a motivated applicant for a postdoctoral research associate/visiting scientist position with a focus on biomimetic magnetic nanostructures. This position, funded by the US DOE, is a one year term appointment with the possibility of renewal for up to three years.
A Ph.D. in material sciences, chemistry, or related field with experience in HRTEM and STEM specimen preparation and use of analytical techniques (EELS and EDS) demonstrated by high-quality publications; hands-on knowledge of biological samples a plus; Laboratory experience with magnetic nanoparticles materials and their structure-property relationships; Good communication skills;
Expertise with Origin, Labview, Matlab, is preferred.
