Internal Candidate Being Considered
Primary responsibility is to perform research projects studying bile acid and nuclear receptor signaling in liver and metabolic diseases.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Perform experiments specified in NIH -funded projects studying bile acid and nuclear receptor signaling in liver diseases, diabetes, and obesity.
Analysis and interpretation of data.
Supervise students and technicians.
Maintain and design genetic modified mouse lines.
Good aptitude and skills in molecular biology techniques and handling of laboratory animals.
Good knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology, and metabolic regulation, bile acid and nuclear receptor signaling in metabolic diseases, including fatty liver disease, diabetes and obesity.
Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Good organizational skills with regard to lab management.
Ability to work independently.
Key Skills and Personal Characteristics
Education/Degrees: Ph.D. in biomedical sciences.
Experience: Five years of laboratory research experiences, manuscript and grant writing, and ability to develop independent research projects for grant funding.
