The laboratory of Scott Durum studies immunological processes in health and disease. One focus is on the cytokine IL-7 which is essential for T cell development and survival. Current projects include studying gain-of-function mutations in IL-7 receptor that drive leukemia. A second focus is on inflammatory bowel disease and development of a promising new therapeutic involving mucosal delivery of the cytokine IL-27. The fellowship is funded by the intramural program of the NIH and can support the follow 2-5yrs with competitive salary and health benefits. The lab is located on the Frederick MD campus of the National Cancer Institute NIH and offers numerous core facilities, training and other programs to benefit fellows.
