Major/Essential Duties of Job

Systems biology experiments. Analysis of large data sets. Writing papers and grant proposals. Developing experimental systems. Training graduate students and technicians. Maintaining Plant materials

Occasional Duties

Other job related duties as assigned.

Required Education:
Ph.D. degree in Plant Sciences, Genetics, Molecular Biology or related field.

Preferred Education:
Required Experience:
Experience in laboratory research projects that center on drought/water stress, gene regulation and genome-wide systems biology.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with transcription factors, promoter-reporter gene analyses, large dataset analyses using software such as MapMan and Arraystar, hydroponics and other water related growth conditions, reporter gene activity imaging, oligo arrays, RNA-seq, in silico promoter analyses.

Required licenses, certifications, or registrations:
Preferred licenses, certifications, or registrations:
Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Expertise in water stress, transcription factors, transcriptomics, metabolomics and system biology. Ability to establish effective working relationships.

Preferred special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Demonstrated publication record in water stress, systems biology, hydroponics and promoter analyses. Ability to write papers and grant proposals.

Other requirements or other factors:
Initial appointment is for one year and is renewable depending on funding and satisfactory performance.
