Seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to join Biogen Idec's postdoctoral training program in the Analytical Development department. The individual will design and conduct a laboratory research project in conjunction with a mentor in research areas of strategic interest to Biogen Idec. The successful candidate will design and evaluate experiments and develop new ideas that promote current research in Fc structure and effector functions in antibodies and Fc fusion proteins.
Specific areas of interest include:
1) Understanding Fc structure-activity relationship by assessing the effects of modifications to Fc and product aggregation on product conformation, Fc binding and effector functions.
2) Examining the impact of upstream process changes on Fc structure and functions.
The individual is expected to actively contribute to the group through innovation and collaboration, prepare and publish manuscripts, and participate in other scholarly activities as appropriate.
Biopharmaceutical Sciences (MFG)
The ideal candidate will have a record of creativity and scientific excellence as evidenced by publication record in peer-reviewed journals. He/She must demonstrate a high level of motivation and scientific curiosity along with excellent communication, collaboration and technical skills. Must have strong, documented scientific background in relevant field. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a broad range of bioanalytical, biophysical and biological techniques. Previous work on Fc structure and effector functions is preferred.
PhD and related experience; may include post doctoral experience.
Proven publication record with at least one first author paper.
