The Power Conversion Engineer contributes as part of the advanced research team within the Chief Technology Office to develop power conversion topologies and control to enable the “next generation” product architecture.

Implement Enphase Energy's power topology strategy meeting our cost, efficiency and reliability targets

Design energy processing hardware and control software

Act as interface to the power semiconductor strategist

Implement the design on our simulation software

Improve our simulation software as required

Validate models and algorithms used

Provide "proof of concept" designs

Vendor interaction

Interaction with Universities for research programs

Communicate at conferences


Expertise in high efficiency power conversion topologies

Simulation expert in power conversion topologies and control logic

Magnetics expert down to Finite Element Analysis level understanding

Thermal design experience using Finite Element Analysis

An in-depth Power Systems understanding

Power semiconductor knowledge at the device level (not molecular)

Very strong numerical and analytical skills

Proficient in optimization algorithms

Expert in Control Theory (analog and digital domain)

Practical experience in control algorithm implementation (Assembler, C++, Python, etc)

FPGA design experience (Verilog, VHDL, etc)

Familiar with EMC and safety standards
