Practice Manager UHSP Orthopedics Washington
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the practices. Organizes and assigns essential duties to employees.
Maintains efficient flow of work through the practice by evaluating work process and manpower requirements. Creates and administers job training and education programming for new and current employees. Develops contingency staffing plans to cover emergencies, illness, and other absences. Provides feedback to personnel to ensure that employees are performing their duties in a manner designed to maintain quality patient care and office productivity. Delivers feedback in a positive, constructive and timely manner. Addresses performance issues in a confidential interview with employees. Communicates new policies, changes in practice to all employees in a uniform manner. Conducts an annual evaluation for each, document success and areas for improvement, with and accompanying action plan for performance improvement. Celebrates successes and failures and encourages risk taking behaviors.
Communicates effectively with Physicians, staff, and patients. Holds monthly practice meetings to update staff on VMG issues. Communicates changes in policy and procedures to all employees in a timely manner. Maintains professional manner in all written and verbal communications. Provides appropriate, timely follow up for all communications. Is accessible to staff and patients to discuss issues of concern during and after office hours. Maintains frequent contact with Regional Manager Ops. Directs personnel function of practice. Supervises hiring, training, disciplinary and termination activity for all positions.
Develops staffing plan and salary budget annually. Maintains confidential personnel records for each employee. Monitor payroll and benefits activity for each employee. Approves all overtime and PDO time for employees. Serves as a liaison between physicians, mid levels and VMG administration regarding personnel, contracts, and other related matters.
Coordinates and participates in physician recruitment efforts for practice.
Maintains financial solvency of operations. Guarantees capture of all patient demographics and charge information. Monitors outstanding Accounts Receivables on a monthly basis. Works with billing office to enhance collections of old accounts. Balances cash drawer and encounter forms for deposit to UHS-P accounts. Reviews invoices for validation of receipts, discounts, and approval for payment. Assists in preparation of annual practice budget. Coordinates with VMG accountants for audit, month, and year end activity.
High school or equivalent plus 1 to 2 years of formal training or education required. 5 or more years related experience required.
