The Practice Manager is responsible for maintaining efficient day to day practice operations at one or more physician offices. The Practice Manager may also be responsible for onboarding physician practices based on Highmark methodologies and standards. The incumbent will focus on physician office transition activities, meeting profitability goals, improving provider and patient satisfaction metrics and will also contribute to market growth and development.
1. Oversee and manage physician office onboarding, the daily operations of one or more physician offices including staff scheduling, cash reconciliation, charge entry and operational checks and balances.
2. Maintain efficient use of practice management and EHR technologies across the office, telephone triage, appointment scheduling, registration, patient flow and discharge procedures to enhance patient satisfaction and physician productivity.
3. Provide recommendations and follow up actions to increase operational inefficiencies.
4. Assist with strategic planning and resource allocation. This includes providing monthly reporting capabilities using Highmark reporting and business intelligence tools with recommendations or action plans on any issues; interpret financial reports/data to effectively manage the office and inform physicians around the business. Also, ensures A/R is optimally liquated, denials are minimized, refunds are issued and customer service is at optimal priority.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience preferred
Minimum three years' experience managing a physician practice required.
Demonstrated knowledge of physician practice operations and financial management.
Proficiency with computer applications including practice management, revenue cycle and EHR software. Allscripts and/or Epic experience a plus.
