Under the direction of the Service Line Director, manage the daily operations of specific clinical unit/s – either single or multi specialty. Supervise non-provider staff within assigned unit/s; ensure effective and efficient patient flow and high standard of customer service. Responsible for managing the balanced score card for assigned units and implementing established plans and budgets. Create an effective management relationship with Chief and Service Line Director to establish joint ownership of department. Collaborate with MDs, peers and staff to develop service delivery improvements. Working with Service Line Director, s/he will implement Lean practices within his/her departments/sites; establish operational goals, objectives, develop and maintain Tier 3 balanced score boards, and take part in and engage his/her staff in problem solving and idea generation. Implement operating policies and procedures required to deliver quality patient care, enhance practice volumes and appropriately manage operating costs as directed by leadership. Assist in management of financials for assigned practices. Implement plans for the provision of cost-effective, high quality health care services for new and existing patients. 3 – 5 years hands on experience in management of physician practice. Multi-site or multi-practice management experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communications skills required for dealing with highly educated physicians and staff. Demonstrated success with continuous improvement; experience working with Lean principles. Strong interpersonal skills required; proven ability to build an effective team, provide leadership in the development of goals, creation of plans, and the execution of strategies. Windows-based PC skills. Word and Excel skills required. Proven ability to generate quality management reports and documents which clearly and concisely communicate information to physicians and management. Working knowledge of CPT and ICD coding as applied in physician practices for billing and clinical purposes. Understanding of managed-care contracting requirements, operation and financial management under managed care and knowledge of insurance carrier documentation and coding requirements. Working knowledge of employment practices and applicable regulatory requirements of certification agencies such as JCAHO, CLIA, OSHA and other agencies that interact with physician offices.
