CHA Somerville Primary Care offers a wide range of health services for adult patients of all ages which include Geriatric Consultations, Infectious Disease Management, Behavioral Health Services, Nutrition Counseling, Anticoagulation and Diabetes Management Services. Somerville Primary Care is also a teaching site for the CHA Internal Medicine Residency Program, employs an electronic medical record to improve quality and safety and provides team based care to our patients. Clerical responsibilities include but are not limited to: scheduling, registrations, referral processing, prior authorizations, data entry and medical record scanning. Additional responsibilities include extensive telephone work including message taking, confirming/rescheduling appointments, and patient outreach while maintaining personal, departmental, and organizational goals.

Other duties as directed by immediate supervisor and/or site administrators. Qualified candidates must possess the following: *Proficiency in Epic system (Cadence, Prelude, and EpicCare) and Meditech. *Experience with medical terminology in an ambulatory setting required. *Proven ability to use Word, Excel, and other computer applications is recommended.

  • Bilingual skills desired. However, Portuguese skills preferred. *Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as accuracy in grammar and spelling. *Must be reliable and organized, able to multitask and prioritize, and work effectively alone or as a team member in an extremely busy environment where patient care, safety and satisfaction are a priority.
  • Must be able to physically negotiate ambulatory site, possess strength and endurance to perform physically for long periods of time, (up to 8 hours), i.e., walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting.
