Summit Medical Group has an excellent opportunity for someone with clinical and practice management experience. This position will be responsible to assist in efficiently supporting all operational aspects of Summit Medical Group physician practices within the scope of policies established and authority delegated by the Executive Director of Operations. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires extensive travel within East Tennessee; overnight travel is rarely anticipated. Occasional evening or weekend work required. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (List does not include all duties assigned) Implementation of Advisory Services for Practice Sites. Implement tools and measurements developed to benchmark Summit practice site performance against one another and to external benchmarks. Collaborates with Executive Director of Operations and other departments to identify effective training for site personnel which improves operational effectiveness. Implements effective training initiatives. In collaboration with Executive Director of Operations, creates and implements internal work plans and consulting services which assist Site Managers in effectively managing their practice site(s). Supports flexible departmental structure to respond promptly and effectively to identified needs at the site level. Continually identifies potential workflow and technology solutions to increase operational efficiency of the practice sites. Collaborates with other departments to implement support programs for new technologies (e.g. EMR). Delivery of Support Services for Practice Sites. Provides interim site management services to support effective operation of sites without managers. Implements programs to develop Site Managers and minimize Site Manager turn over. Carries out programs related to practice operational areas including, but not limited to, clinical regulatory matters (e.g. OSHA) and customer service (e.g. patient complaint monitoring). Assists with operational support for practices in crisis or with emergency operational needs. Serves as support person between Site Managers, practice sites, and the Central Office. Maintains strong relationship with Site Managers throughout network. Practice Growth and Development Coordinates due diligence for physician partnership and practice acquisitions. Integrates newly acquired practice sites into Summit. Assists with development of new site facilities. Supports development of new service lines within sites. Other Related Duties Participates in professional development activities to keep current with health care trends and practices. At all times represents Summit Medical Group with professionalism to public, vendors, physicians, etc. Continually displays exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Reports for work at time scheduled and is regular in attendance. Adheres to all appropriate aspects of the corporate compliance program. Maintains strictest confidentiality. Performs related work as assigned.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of organization policies and procedures. Working knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management practices. Working knowledge of computer systems and applications. Working knowledge of health care administration principles. Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving and decision-making. Ability to apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, staff and the public. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. EDUCATION: Associates or Bachelors degree in health or business administration preferred. CERTIFICATION: CMPE (Certified Medical Practice Executive) certification preferred. EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of supervisory management/leadership experience in a multi-location medical office environment preferred.
