Job Summary:
Morgan Lewis is currently seeking a Practice Technology Project Manager who will reside in the Houston office. Guided by the eData Practice Technology department's objectives and priorities, the Project Manager is responsible for managing all technical aspects of eDiscovery and litigation support projects for assigned clients and matters. This position serves as the primary point of contact throughout the eDiscovery and litigation support project lifecycle and will provide expert consultation on eDiscovery technology and best practices to ensure that the highest level of client service and satisfaction is attained in all areas of the position.

A key success factor to this position is the ability to consistently provide a high degree of client service. This includes communicating regularly and proactively with case teams to assess goals and set realistic expectations; providing expert consultation and support to meet the needs of legal teams while helping manage risks; forging collaborative partnerships among the legal teams and the eData group throughout all offices; coordinating and managing all technical, vendor, and analyst resources available to meet project demands; and educating legal teams regarding the eData Practice Group's technologies, procedures and best practices.

This position will also be required to develop and manage eDiscovery project plans, risk management plans, and communication plans; provide vendor and budget management for eDiscovery and litigation support projects; coordinate large data collections at client sites; master new eDiscovery technologies and processes; and contribute to and enrich the knowledge base and expertise of the eData group as a whole. In addition, this position is expected to mentor eData Practice Technology Analysts, as well as coordinate their efforts on specific eDiscovery projects and tasks. Experience with third generation litigation support applications, review platforms and techniques is a plus.

This position reports to the Sr. Project Manager of Practice Technology and does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualified candidates will preferably possess a Bachelor's degree and at least four years of relevant experience, or a minimum of eight years of relevant experience is required. Candidates must have the ability to effectively manage technical and quality issues with eDiscovery and Litigation Support providers; excellent team work skills and strong client-service orientation; and the ability to work concurrently on projects and flexibility in shifting focus. Candidates will preferably have advanced training in project management or operations management and/or law firm experience working across multiple offices.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Concordance, Relativity, IPRO, LiveNote, MS Access and other Microsoft tools; have exposure to Recommind Axcelerate and predictive coding workflow; have a comprehensive understanding of how databases work; demonstrate skill in manipulating database loadfiles; understand information technology and network infrastructure; and have excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective internal and external client relationships.
