Responsibilities

Conducts research activities directly related to the area of study for which PhD degree will be conferred, and such research is required of all candidates as a condition for receiving such a degree. The primary purpose of this research is to further the student┬┐s education and training, culminating with the completion and defense of a doctoral thesis.

Demonstrates commitment to Jefferson┬┐s core values of excellence and innovation, integrity and respect, teamwork and communication.

Knows policies and procedures applicable to assigned duties. Uses sound judgment and is aware of potential hazards before taking action. Promptly reports errors/events or situations of actual or potential harm. Understands emergency procedures and can demonstrate appropriate response.

Qualifications

Full-time graduate student enrolled in one of the basic science PhD programs of the Jefferson College of Graduate Studies. Receives a fellowship award including stipend as a means of financial support toward this graduate study.

Baccalaureate degree in biomedical or basic sciences area of study. Application and acceptance of admission to the College.
