Methodist Home for Children in Philadelphia is seeking a President and CEO. Founded to meet the needs of children orphaned as a result of the Civil War, today MHC is the management company for several separately incorporated organizations that facilitate the provision of a diversified portfolio of social services, supportive housing, education, counseling, health and nutrition programs to more than 2500 children, individuals and families in the Greater Philadelphia Region and northeastern Pennsylvania. Headquartered on a 22-acre campus, MHC had total revenues of approximately $9 million and total assets of approximately $34 million in FY2012.
In conjunction with the Board of Directors, the President and CEO confirms and reinforces the ongoing mission for the Methodist Home for Children: “
to provide services for individuals, children and their families which enable them to have the basic essentials for living and the social, emotional, psychological and education support they need to help them achieve their greatest potential.
The President and CEO in partnership with the board will assist in creating a strategic vision for the agency which is aligned with the most critical needs of children and families in the Philadelphia region. The successful candidate will be skilled in articulating the vision in such a way that other members of the organization and the community are inspired to share in the vision and contribute to its achievement. In addition to the President and CEO, members of the executive team include two Executive Directors/Senior Vice Presidents, a Chief Financial Officer, and a Director of Grants and Contracts.
Potential candidates for the position should be innovative and entrepreneurial with the ability, energy, and vision to continue to diversify and grow a human services agency in today’s challenging reimbursement and regulatory environment. Candidates will possess the demonstrated ability to capture people’s imaginations with the special mission the agency maintains.
Additional requirements include a master’s degree in a related field, a track record of progressive management experience in a human services organization, and ten years minimum executive experience.
