The Pricing Analyst is responsible for ensuring that Franklin Templeton values its portfolio holdings at the most current and accurate valuation level. This includes holdings of equity, fixed income and derivative securities. The Pricing Analyst is responsible for the research and resolution of pricing exceptions, challenges, and stale priced securities for issues held in our mutual fund and private client portfolios. The Pricing Analyst contributes to the accuracy in the calculation of the mutual fund portfolio net asset values (NAV) for timely distribution to NASDAQ and the entire company.

Responsibilities include:
Research security price challenges initiated by Portfolio, Trading, and/or Investment Accounting & Operations Departments. Ensure market valuations are accurate, timely and representative of traded markets.

Act as liaison with Portfolio, Trading, Fund Accounting, and external auditing firms.

Audit corporate actions daily as they relate to valuation and coordinate with the corporate actions group as necessary.

Provide coverage for other Pricing Analysts as needed.

Support external auditors by addressing pricing audit issues.

Review, analyze, and resolve any pricing exceptions on a daily basis for assigned region or security type.

Document all research and exception findings for files. Maintain orderly and complete organization of files.

Analyze unchanged security prices on a periodic basis. Perform research and assist in the preparation of write-ups for submission to Portfolio/Trading Department to determine liquidity.

Monitor single sourced securities and obtain secondary sources as available.

Develop and maintain vendor and broker relationships.

Provide cross-training to other Pricing Analysts as required.

Participate in discussions regarding future plans for enhancements to existing products and integration of new products.

Evaluate software readiness and conduct quality assurance audits to ensure proper readiness into the production environment.

Identify and initiate workflow improvements.

Work with Supervisor/Senior Pricing Analyst on special projects as assigned.

Perform standard Pricing Analyst tasks as needed on local holidays, weekends, and during business continuity exercises/relocations. The business continuity relocation may include travel for an extended period of time.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:
Required Education & Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related technical field required.

Experience:
One to three years of proven experience in the financial industry.

Experience in portfolio administration, security settlements, or corporate actions will be viewed favorably.

Sound knowledge of the financial markets and various security types.

Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
