The Pricing Analyst works closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, under the Director of Pricing, to support pricing optimization across the organization. This role is global in scope and responsible for conducting both transactional financial analysis and customer value analysis to drive insights that will support both strategic (e.g. offer configuration, setting price structure and list price for new products, discount management policies) and tactical (deal management, negotiation support) pricing guidance.
The Pricing Analyst should have strong prior experience with financial analysis built on a fundamental understanding of business math and be able to independently work with business intelligence analysts to gather data and generate ad hoc reports. They should be comfortable with qualitative analysis. Additional responsibilities include working closely with Finance to ensure successful systems implementation of pricing decisions in pricebooks, quoting tools, and ERP systems, which require simple program management skills. Prior experience in pricing is not required, but a candidate should demonstrate interest in pricing as part of their career path.
BS/BA degree in business or related discipline or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years related work experience (MBA not required but preferred). Familiarity with basic business intelligence tools; strong Excel and Powerpoint ability. Strong analytical skills, including ability to create models from both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Ability to identify and communicate insights based on analysis. Ability to build cross-functional peer relationships and interact with senior internal personnel. Ability to manage multiple requests to deadlines, understanding, communicating, and trading off priorities.
