In this role, you will help contribute to the evolution of pricing at PayPal. As a Pricing Strategy Manager in the Global Pricing team, you will use a value-based pricing approach to help develop forward-thinking pricing strategies that will optimize pricing and profitability and drive margin expansion for the PayPal brand. As a valued member of the Global Pricing team, you will help set a global pricing strategy and support the Global and Geography business unit leaders and their teams employ the strategies. As part of formulating those strategies, you will research industry best practices, define processes, train teams, and influencing PayPal leadership. You will partner with Finance, Product, Marketing, BU, and Sales to ensure pricing is strategic and supports evolving business objectives. You will bring analytical rigor, immersing yourself in the data to draw out key insights and to persuasively communicate your recommendations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Use customer insights gained through data analysis, research, interviews, surveys, VOC, focus groups, and other mechanisms to help the company achieve an ideal alignment between price and value
Structure complex, ambiguous, and potentially charged business issues for senior management
Gather and analyze massive amounts of information quickly
Build analytical models to inform and influence pricing discussions
Develop compelling, insightful recommendations
Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences
Work with internal business partners to provide recommendations and set strategy for pricing initiatives
Big picture strategic thinking with hypothesis driven structured analytical approaches
Strong modeling and presentation skills, experience and comfort with statistical modeling packages, and comfort with large datasets
Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication up to the senior executive level
Ability to work independently, deal with ambiguity, and meet deadlines in a fast moving environment focused on results
Ability to operate in a highly complex cross-functional matrixed organization structure to drive direction, decision making, and priorities
Negotiation, influencing, and conflict mediation skills to support rapid decision resolution
Ability to quickly learn and ramp up in new subject matters to drive relevancy to stakeholder interactions
Strong team player who regularly volunteers to assist partners, take on additional responsibilities, and assist co-workers.
Cross trains and shares knowledge with colleagues
Previous financial services industry experience is a plus
7+ years overall experience and at least 3 years pricing experience either in a pricing consulting role or as a pricing practitioner in a best in class pricing environment.
