The Principal Business Analyst provides broad functional and technical expertise within mulitple business areas in the review, analysis, development and implementation of business processes and applications. Principal BA's bring expert knowledge to the design, implementation and modification of multiple custom applications or Oracle modules, focusing primarily R12 GL, AGIS, FA, and AP (i-Procurement, Purchasing and Projects are secondary focuses). They consult on resolution of complex production problems and identify ways to take full advantage of new products and new releases of current products.

The Principal BA may function as Project Manager for IT-related activities in large projects or as Project Manager for less complex projects.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide functional and technical expertise within multiple business areas, and provide strategic, forward-looking vision when configuring or customizing solutions to maintain flexibility and future integration opportunities.

Lead other IT staff, and internal customers in new product reviews, tests and pilots. Evaluate new products and provide recommendations.

Readily share knowledge and expertise while consulting with other Business Analysts to assist with application functionality and solution design.

Document system functions and cross functional processes for the IT group as well as selected items for our internal business customers.

Solicit requirements from end users through interviews, workshops, and/or existing system documentation or procedures.

Collect, document and analyze business requirements and functional specifications for cross functional projects to provide the best solution for business needs.

Create and revise process flows, business requirements, business rules, use cases, user interface and report designs, functional specifications, and acceptance test scripts based on business needs.

Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.

Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and testability.

Apply knowledge and experience to recommend solutions to enterprise-wide business problems

Collaborate with business partners to identify and maximize opportunities to leverage information and technology to improve strategic business needs and processes and address operational inefficiencies.

Provide consulting support on strategic and long term solutions.

Develop and maintain strong business relationships and network with key internal and external colleagues.

Create networks of internal and external colleagues.

May manage PIP (Process Improvement Projects), complying with our internal project lifecycle process. Identify any issues with timelines or completion of projects ahead of time and work with PMO and internal customers to address.

Maintain all project tasks through the production ticket system or project server on a weekly basis.

Keep Project Manager informed of any issues.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None

QUALIFICATIONS:
Expert knowledge of information technologies and methodologies, particularly with different application systems

Proficient in project management techniques and experience on cross functional projects

Excellent organizational skills and strong problem solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio

Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines

Self-directed, able to work in a team, independently and motivate others

Understanding of relational databases and query tools

Expert knowledge of multiple applications or modules and multiple business processes

Ability to understand complex business concepts and recommend the best solution to support changing business needs

Expert knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite

Strong knowledge of Oracle methodologies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree or related experience strongly preferred

Minimum twelve (12) years professional experience in business analysis, application design, implementation, and support in an online environment

Prior experience in Finance and Accounting environment is required.

ENVIRONMENT:
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.

Approximately

0-10% travel in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
