This is a senior/lead position accountable for all the responsibilities of maintaining and optimizing production SQL Server databases that meet the objectives of company Service Level Agreements and supporting Engineers to achieve the goals of high availability and data loss prevention.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Installation, configuration and upgrading of MS SQL Server RDBMS, OLAP server software and related products
  • Establish and Maintain sound backup and recovery policies
  • Implement and maintain database security
  • Set up an maintain documentation and standards
  • Work as part of team and provide 24x7 support when required
  • Perform general technical troubleshooting and give consultation to development teams
  • Evaluate RDBMS features and related products
  • Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
  • Mentoring staff members with ongoing training
  • Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development cycle
  • Provide a strategic database direction for the organization
  • Interface with Vendor for technical support

Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in computer Sciences or related engineering fields
  • Professional Certification is plus
  • 6+ years commercial Database experience Most of which in high-volume production environment
  • 2+ years as a technical lead is a plus
  • 4+ years of DB Design, TSQL/SSIS/.NET development is a must
  • Installation, configuration and upgrading of MS SQL Server RDBMS, OLAP server software and related products
  • Setup of OS and SQL Clustering
  • Experience automating SQL as well as Windows OS administration tasks
  • Fluent in writing database maintenance scripts, TSQL statements and Stored Procedures
  • In-Depth understanding of SQL Server engine and related administration utilities/tools
  • In-Depth understanding of windows OS features and related administration utilities/tools
  • Working in-depth knowledge of SQL Server Replication/Mirroring technologies
  • PowerShell and other OS scripting
  • Bottleneck identification and other hardware-based OS and SQL tuning
  • TSQL and Database logical and physical design review and identification of areas to improve
  • Interface with Vendors for efficient problem resolution
  • In depth knowledge of SQL Server security features and understanding of methods for SQL-injection based attacks.
  • Skills (Preferred / Desired)
  • .Net scripting/programming a strong plus
  • OLAP/Cube Design following best practices to support existing and upcoming projects
  • Setup/maintenance of SQL Server Reporting Services as well as creating of SSRS based customer facing Operations reports
  • Familiarity with current SAN and hardware technologies is a strong plus
