Manage the editorial and production process from draft to final product. Uses advanced skill to complete unusually complex tasks, ensuring that documents are clear, concise and timely and that the authors' ideas are logically presented. Ensure that each document meets the formatting and other stylistic requirements. Develop and maintain a roster of editors and formatting experts to meet peak demands for editorial services. Provide both individual and group training on effective writing to increase the capability of the staff to write high-quality documents.

1 Manage editorial and production processes within the division to ensure that documents are high quality and meet contractual requirements regarding style and formatting.

2 Edit and format formal research documents (including online and unusually complex ones) according to CNA style and/or contractual requirements and the guidelines of plain English. Also edit and proofread informal documents such as correspondence, flyers, brochures, and surveys. Use comprehensive knowledge to ensure all documents are well organized, grammatically correct, and concise. Proofread correspondence, flyers, brochures, surveys, and other informal publications.

3 Consult with authors about proposed changes and suggestions. Interact with VPs and/or Senior Management.

4 Use CNA and/or contractual standards of quality and consistency of style and help staff members effectively communicate the results of their analyses.

5 Lead the development and support of an efficient publications process for division products.

6 Develop and implement training both within the division and in conjunction with other editors to improve the quality of documents and other deliverables.

7 Advise division and business unit management of issues related to editing and production of documents.

8 Support corporate editing needs as required.

9 Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
1 Education: Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.

2 Experience: Minimum 10 years' related experience. Experience editing and proofreading required.

3 Skills: Familiarity with editing and production processes using Microsoft Office and other CNA standard software applications; copyediting skills; oral and written communication skills. Ability to coordinate people and resources, and manage complex processes.
