Accountabilities

Applies advanced knowledge of reliability concepts and test methods within the product lifecycle.
  • Plan all reliability activities and report resource, materiel, capital and expense requirements
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect product performance. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility, the reliability engineer applies data analysis techniques that can include:
  • Reliability modeling and prediction
  • Statistical process control
  • Weibull analysis
  • Experimental Design
  • Six Sigma (6σ methodology
  • Root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
  • Failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS)
  • Serve as Reliability core team member leading the development of Reliability goals and objectives.
  • Assess the reliability of OEM parts and assemblies. Proactively work with OEM suppliers to establish confidence or implement RDT activities.
  • Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact product function.
  • Create and release Voltage and Temperature Margin Testing (VTMT), HALT, RDT, and IUV protocols with necessary test beds.
  • Execute protocols directly and/or in cooperation with technicians.
  • Gathers and examines reliability data from field studies or data base, and correlates the data to optimize preventive maintenance plans.
  • Independently utilizes SolidWorks CAD tools to create complex test fixtures and assemblies

    Reliability Engineering incorporates various Reliability tools in Development and Operations Engineering to ensure the robustness and lasting value of our products.

    What is expected of you for success in your role
    • Applies advanced knowledge of reliability concepts and test methods within the product lifecycle
    • May demonstrate knowledge by industry certification in reliability quality
    • Ability to write routine procedures (with appropriate test methods for the product) and reports.
    • Applies knowledge of end user into test protocol
    • Conducts complex testing.
    • Ability to perform statistical analysis of results.
    • Able to review historical data to guide team
    • Assists the team in determining the Reliability objectives and goals, and that they are sufficiently defined in specifications, procedures, and testing

    • Bachelor's degree in related field required
    • Masters degree preferred
    • A minimum of 4 years related work experience required
    • Ability to train and coach others from technical expertise
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills
