Our Core Server Services team is expanding as we rebuild the key services and security within our datacenters in a virtualized environment. The ideal candidate would possess a breadth of hands-on experience with maintaining 24 x 7 x365 server environments, and have a passion for supporting highly visible servers and shared services.
This exciting opportunity is available for senior level System Engineers who have a passion for supporting key shared technologies within the datacenter.
Support the development of a new shared infrastructure services team
Support the build and maintenance of Linux platforms supporting infrastructure services (database, storage, networks)
Develop scripts for deployment automation and other functions
Perform and/or supervise Production-critical software deployments
Investigate, diagnose, and implement corrective action to Production environments as well as internal development environments
Occasional off-shift availability to resolve Production issues or assist in Production deployments (on-call duties will be shared with the Operations Team)
Design, implement, maintain and provide tier 4 support for Nokia's production DNS, IPAM, CDN, and GLB infrastructure.
Expert knowledge of DNS/DHCP/BIND. Skilled at implementing and maintaining IPAM (Infoblox). IPV4 & IPV6 expertise. Mastery of Unix/Linux (RedHat/CentOS). Hands-on experience managing CDN services.
Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience managing 24/7 Production Internet Applications in a Linux environment
B.S. Engineering, Computer Science or related technology preferred
Hands on VMware support and maintain experience is required
Experience with Centrify or similar security platforms in Linux based environments
Experience supporting server environments supporting databases including Oracle RAC and MySQL
Experience with Aspera a plus
Working knowledge with Puppet preferred
Experience with Nagios monitoring software
Microsoft active directory and server support experience a plus
Solid scripting experience in PERL or Python
Prior experience working with Enterprise ticketing systems (Jira experience a plus)
SQL Familiarity (ability to construct basic queries, and perform database monitoring)
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical employees and with vendors of system related products
Meticulous attention to detail with an appreciation for the relationship between system reliability and company success
Comfortable working in a truly international company, as many teams on this project are in Finland and India
