SBM Atlantia, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Principal Pipe Stress Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for: Performing pipe stress analysis of piping on a project in conformance with the project specification requirements; producing critical line lists; writing and checking of Pipe Stress Analysis Reports for critical systems or other technical reports; reviewing layouts and isometrics; producing and checking calculations; designing pipe supports; preparing support footprint load data and communicating with other disciplines; performing local stress checks, flange leakage tests, fatigue analysis and assessment of loads on equipment; preparing specifications and datasheets or special supports and springs; preparing technical evaluation of vendor proposals; coordinating with designers and structural engineers to define and optimize pipe support requirements; performing site walk down of installed supports for verification of compliance to requirements; and mentoring and assisting in training of other engineers.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates will possess a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in piping systems. In lieu, would accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience in piping systems.
