Our Industrial division offers a unique and challenging opportunity for a Principal Project Engineer . This position will be based out of our New Port Richey facilities in Florida.
Responsible for the design of aerospace and industrial valves and components to customer and Pall internal requirements. This includes performing engineering calculations to accurately predict product performance, and creating a design on schedule and within cost goals.
Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult engineering problems.
Work under general direction and independently determine and develop successful approaches to technical problems.
Good communication skills and teamwork is expected to effectively coordinate project efforts within engineering, internal and external customers.
On larger programs, called upon to lead the engineering team and coordinate activities within the scope of the project. Leadership skills are important.
In short, responsible for the successful development of the product from concept through qualification and often take on team leader responsibilities.
Position involves sitting for long periods of time, moving to various locations throughout the facility and observing various operations in the production of the product. Occasional travel may be required.
Technical lead handling multiple design projects from initial design concept through qualification. Responsibilities include:
Review of customer documents / specifications which define the technical requirements for the project. We often must work with customers to develop the technical requirements.
Interpret customer specifications and communicate requirements to members of the project design team.
Develop design concepts, which will meet customer requirements.
Verify the performance of the design through analysis including FEA (Ansys), CFD (EFD), and hand calculations.
Conduct product development testing when required.
Create detail and assembly drawings using ANSI standards.
Perform GD&T analysis to ensure parts perform to requirements under all tolerance extremes.
Create product data for production defining product structures (bom) and raw material requirements.
Organize and assemble a complete and accurate design package for submittal to the Design Team for approval.
Lead Design Teams on large programs when multiple engineers are involved.
Manage multiple project functions through design, qualification, and product life cycle.
Interface with customers at formal design reviews.
EDUCATION/PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
BSME or BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.
Ten years or more of Project Engineering / Design experience.
Minimum of three years of Project Management experience.
Basic knowledge in the areas of stress analysis and fluid dynamics.
Familiar with ISO 9000 engineering design requirements.
Experienced in spreadsheet analysis, report writing.
Familiar with engineering software is preferred.
