This role will require a strong, detail-oriented leader with communication skills and the ability to deliver. The day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring all personnel are performing at a level consistent with the entire team, holding all staff accountable and ensuring the technical vision of the technical leadership is executed on-time and with the upmost quality. This position will require initial training in the Annapolis Junction, MD office but is permanently located in the Falls Church, VA office.
Duties and Responsibilities
Rapidly prototype, develop, test, and deploy software solutions in a team environment.
Adapt and change approaches to customer needs using agile development techniques.
Assimilate new technologies quickly and apply them to customer problems.
Current Secret clearance required
An understanding of usability
An eye for design
Write well-factored, object-oriented code.
Rapidly learn new technologies and languages.
Experience with one or more modern source control tools: GIT, Subversion, or Mercurial.
Experience with one or more general-purpose object oriented programming language such as Java, Groovy, Scala, Ruby, C#, etc. and/or functional languages such as Clojure and LISP
Ability to manipulate the DOM using libraries like jQuery
Design and develop a web interface using the CSS box model
Used AJAX to communicate with RESTful web services
Created RESTful web services using appropriate HTTP verbs (e.g. GET, PUT, POST, DELETE)
Ability to design web applications that function in multiple web browsers (e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer)
Experience with *nix operating systems
Experience leading a team of developers
Experience with functional management of employees.
A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience
Candidates possessing experience with the following will receive priority attention:
Experience interacting with customers
Nice to have:
TS/SCI clearance preferred
Developed J2EE style n-tier applications with experience at all layers from front end through to persistence
Experiencing architecting enterprise scale applications
Experience with LISP
